The Elusive Blue Bird

Morning. I know that damn Blue Bird of Happiness is out there somewhere—but if past experience means anything, it’s probably circling overhead, waiting for the perfect moment to take a crap on my head.

People love to talk about finding joy, as if it’s some grand, predictable event, something you can plan for or summon at will. But the truth is, happiness is unpredictable. It comes and goes as it pleases—sometimes in small moments like a good cup of coffee or an old song, other times teasing you before vanishing just as quickly.

Some days, no matter how hard you look, it’s nowhere to be found. Maybe that’s just the way it works—not something to chase, but something to catch in passing, if you’re lucky enough to notice.

The Reality of a New Day

When Problems Meet the Morning.

"Tomorrow is a brand-new day" is what they'll say, a comforting phrase meant to inspire hope, but waking up to a new day doesn't magically erase our problems.

A new day doesn’t erase problems, but it offers a chance to face them with renewed strength and perspective.

While time can offer perspective and distance from immediate stress, many challenges require active effort and patience to resolve.

A fresh day might bring renewed energy or a clearer mind, but problems often persist until we take steps to address them.

Hot Liquid, Cold Realities

Sip Happens: A Morning Ritual Exposed.

Ah yes, the coffee will magically fix everything... any second now. This sarcastic quip perfectly captures the relatable futility of relying on a morning ritual to combat life's deeper exhaustion. Coffee, the universal symbol of rejuvenation, becomes a half-hearted hero in the face of fatigue that runs far beyond physical tiredness.

Coffee can wake the body, but it takes more than a cup to wake the soul.

The truth is, no amount of caffeine can fix a restless mind or the weight of unresolved thoughts lingering from the day before. It’s almost comical how we clutch at a mug of hot liquid like it’s a magic wand, hoping it will conjure focus, energy, and clarity. Instead, we sit at the kitchen counter, dressed in yesterday's weariness, and realize that while coffee is a reliable ally, it’s not a miracle worker.

Perhaps the real magic…

Rise and Shine is a Lie

Groggy, Grumpy, and Getting Through It.

As we get older or more stressed, mornings stop being "rise and shine" and turn into "stumble and grumble." What used to be a fresh start is now more like a groggy shuffle to the coffee machine, muttering complaints before we've even fully woken up. It’s life’s way of reminding us that enthusiasm isn’t guaranteed—sometimes survival is the best we can manage before noon!

As you drift off to sleep and dream about tomorrow, remember that even if you stumble and grumble in the morning, there's always a chance to laugh your way through the day.

Greetings and salutations. Thank you for visiting. While you're here, feel free to explore beyond this forum. The site acts as an archive for my posts from various platforms...
